Power Drift is viewed from behind the player’s car. The objective is to finish near the front of each race, negotiate hills, jumps, banked turns, and hazards, and qualify for the next stage.

The arcade game offers multiple course groups with several stages in each group. Players steer, accelerate, brake, and manage slides while racing a broad pack of opponents. Results determine whether the run continues, so consistent cornering and recovery after jumps are more important than simply holding maximum speed.

Brake briefly before tight corners instead of entering them at maximum speed. Begin steering early on banked turns and correct gently after landing from jumps.

Study the route during the first attempt in a course group. Finishing consistently is valuable because a clean recovery after a mistake can preserve qualification better than a risky overtake.
