How it plays

How does Renegade play?

Renegade is a side-view action game played across several urban stages. The objective is to defeat waves of gang members, survive hazards, and reach a stage boss. Most fights take place in bounded areas rather than continuously scrolling corridors.

Players move, jump, punch, kick, grab enemies, and throw or strike opponents at close range. Enemies can attack from both sides, so positioning and crowd control are important. A motorcycle sequence changes the pace by requiring the player to fight while moving through traffic. Defeated stages advance the story, but there is no character-level progression or equipment system.

Plan your run

What is the best way to play Renegade?

Stay near the center of the screen so enemies cannot surround Kunio as easily. Prioritize opponents approaching from behind, then use grabs or throws to create space.

Use jumps and attacks carefully because missed strikes leave Kunio exposed. In motorcycle sections, watch the traffic pattern and attack only when an opponent is within reliable range. Learn boss spacing rather than repeatedly rushing forward.
