How it plays
How does Road Fighter play?
The screen scrolls continuously from top to bottom as the car travels along a series of roads. The objective is to reach the finish before time or fuel becomes a problem while avoiding civilian cars, opposing vehicles, oil slicks, and roadside boundaries.
Players steer horizontally and manage their speed through the arcade controls. Passing fuel-related pickups can extend a run, while collisions reduce momentum and may cost valuable time. Later sections require quicker reactions as traffic and hazards become more difficult to read.
Plan your run
What is the best way to play Road Fighter?
Stay near the center of the road when the view is clear, then make small steering corrections rather than sweeping across traffic. Look ahead for gaps and avoid committing to a pass when another vehicle blocks the exit.
Prioritize safe routes over maximum speed when fuel or time is low. Learn the recurring placement of hazards and use the full width of the road only when it is necessary to avoid a collision.
Before you begin
What should you know before playing?
- 1
Use small steering movements to keep control at high speed.
- 2
Plan overtakes early and leave room to recover from unexpected traffic.
- 3
Collect fuel-related items when safely reachable, but do not risk a crash for one.
