Asterix and the Great Rescue
Sega GenesisPlatformer
How it plays
Races are presented from a side-scrolling perspective. The objective is to finish ahead of the field while avoiding traffic, roadside obstacles, police, and crashes. Riders can attack opponents during a race and use road position and timing to create openings.
The campaign progresses through races in different locations. Prize money can be used to obtain faster motorcycles and improve the player's ability to compete in later events. A single-race mode is also available for more immediate play.
Plan your run
Learn the timing of attacks instead of holding a weapon input continuously. Fighting is most useful when a rival is alongside the player, but careless attacks can cause a loss of speed or a crash.
Prioritize staying on the road and leaving room for traffic. Save money for a meaningful motorcycle upgrade, and use safer lines through bends rather than attempting every risky shortcut.
Road Rash 3: Tour de Force is a 1995 motorcycle racing and vehicular-combat game developed and published by Electronic Arts for the Sega Genesis. It places the player in illegal road races across several countries, where winning depends on speed, traffic awareness, and the ability to fight rival riders. Races use a side-scrolling viewpoint with roads that scroll horizontally as the motorcycle advances. The game expands the series with a world-tour structure, varied environments, purchasable motorcycles, and weapons. It was generally recognized as a technically ambitious and entertaining late-generation Genesis racer, although its difficulty and occasional collisions could be unforgiving. Its combination of racing and melee combat remains the defining feature of the Road Rash series.
