How it plays
Robo Army is a side-view scrolling beat 'em up. Players move through a sequence of stages, defeat recurring robot enemies, collect items, and fight a boss at the end of each stage.
The player can move, jump, attack, and use weapons or power-ups found during the stages. Encounters emphasize positioning and timing because enemies can surround the player, while hazards and bosses require learning attack patterns. One- and two-player cooperative modes are available.
Plan your run
Stay mobile rather than repeatedly attacking from one position. Clear nearby enemies before advancing so that fewer opponents can surround the robot.
Save powered attacks and useful weapons for dense groups or bosses. Against bosses, watch their attack cycles, strike during recovery windows, and use the edges of the arena to create space.

Before you begin

Robo Army is a 1991 side-scrolling beat 'em up developed and published by SNK for arcade systems. The player controls a heavily armed combat robot battling through a city threatened by mechanized enemies and a powerful opposing force. Its play style follows the established arcade brawler formula: advance through linear stages, defeat groups of enemies with close-range attacks, collect temporary power-ups, and confront large bosses. The game supports cooperative play for two players, which adds crowd-control value and makes its demanding encounters more manageable. Robo Army received a modest historical reputation as a distinctive but challenging SNK beat 'em up, remembered especially for its industrial robot theme, weapon pickups, and unusual attack animations.
