How it plays
The game is viewed primarily from the side. Sparkster runs, jumps, climbs, slashes enemies, and uses his rocket pack to charge in a chosen direction or reach distant platforms.
The adventure is divided into distinct stages with minibosses, hazards, and boss encounters. Sparkster's sword can defeat foes and reflect some projectiles, while rocket movement is also used for navigation and combat. Progression is linear, with new areas and bosses appearing as stages are cleared.
Plan your run
Learn the difference between ordinary movement and rocket propulsion. Use short, deliberate rocket charges for positioning rather than holding the direction continuously.
Keep Sparkster near the center of the screen during boss fights, watch attack patterns before committing, and use the sword to deal with approaching enemies and reflect suitable projectiles. Save continues for later stages, where hazards and bosses become considerably less forgiving.

Rocket Knight Adventures is a 1993 action platformer developed by Konami Computer Entertainment Tokyo and published by Konami for the Sega Genesis. Players control Sparkster, a rocket-powered opossum knight defending the Kingdom of Zebulos from the invading Devotindos Empire. The game combines traditional side-scrolling platforming with sword combat, rocket propulsion, projectile reflection, and fast-moving set pieces. Its stages vary substantially, including mechanical fortresses, vertical climbs, mine-cart sequences, and aerial battles. Critics and players generally praised its animation, energetic design, responsive controls, and technical ambition, while its difficulty and limited continues made later sections demanding.
