MegaMan.EXE
The heroic NetNavi controlled in the action stages. He fights viruses and advances through the game’s missions.
How it plays
The game uses a side-view perspective. The objective is to move through stages, defeat viruses and other enemies, avoid hazards, and reach each area’s goal. MegaMan.EXE attacks while navigating platforms and obstacles.
Progression follows a linear stage structure with boss encounters and story events. Lan and MegaMan’s partnership frames the action, but the game is primarily played as a conventional platform-action title rather than through the main series’ grid-based battle system.
Plan your run
Study enemy patterns before advancing, especially in narrow passages where hazards can limit your movement. Keep a safe distance when possible and avoid rushing into unfamiliar screens.
Conserve health and approach boss encounters patiently. Repeating a difficult section is often safer than taking damage simply to maintain forward momentum.

Rockman EXE WS is a Japanese side-scrolling action game developed by Capcom and published by Bandai for the WonderSwan family. It uses the characters and network-themed setting of Mega Man Battle Network, but presents them in a more traditional action format than the main series’ real-time card-battle RPG structure. Players guide MegaMan.EXE through stages while Lan supports him from the real world. The game combines platforming, enemy encounters, and light puzzle or traversal elements across a sequence of missions. Its release made it a notable handheld side story for the franchise, although it remained a Japan-only title and received far less international attention than the Game Boy Advance Battle Network games.
