How it plays

How does Saturday Night Slam Masters play?

Matches take place in a single-screen wrestling ring viewed from the side. Players move around the ring, attack opponents, initiate grapples, perform throws, and attempt pinfalls after reducing an opponent's stamina.

The arcade game supports one-on-one and tag-team play, with computer-controlled opponents in the main progression. Wrestlers have different strengths, speed, grappling techniques, and special moves. Ring ropes and the turnbuckles create additional opportunities for attacks and positioning.

Plan your run

What is the best way to play Saturday Night Slam Masters?

Use the ring rather than trading attacks in the center. Approach with a strike, then convert a successful opening into a grapple, throw, or knockdown.

Save powerful moves for moments when the opponent is vulnerable. Against large wrestlers, keep moving and attack from safer angles; against fast wrestlers, prioritize blocking, spacing, and quick escapes from grapples.

In tag matches, avoid leaving the partner exposed for long periods. Create knockdowns before attempting a pin, and watch the referee's position during crowded exchanges.

Before you begin

What should you know before playing?

  1. 1

Learn each wrestler's grapple follow-ups; throws and slams are often safer than repeated basic attacks.

  2. 2

Use the ropes and turnbuckles to change distance and set up stronger attacks.

  3. 3

A pin attempt is most reliable after a heavy move or a long exchange has weakened the opponent.
