How it plays
The game presents isometric stages filled with cliffs, traps, enemies, branching paths, and timed hazards. Players roll their character through each area, collect rings, avoid damage, and reach the exit before the stage timer expires.
SegaSonic is designed for cooperative arcade play, with separate trackballs for as many as three players. Progression follows a fixed sequence of stages and set pieces rather than an inventory or character-level system. Taking damage reduces the player's ring supply, while reaching checkpoints and exits keeps the run moving forward.
Plan your run
Keep the trackball moving in short, controlled directions instead of making constant broad rolls. Learn the safest route through each stage, especially around cliffs, crushers, and branching passages.
Collect rings when doing so does not expose you to a greater hazard, and avoid unnecessary collisions. In multiplayer, spread out when the route allows it, but regroup before difficult hazards so one player does not advance beyond the others.

SegaSonic the Hedgehog is a 1993 arcade action game developed by Sega AM3 and published by Sega. It places Sonic and two original companions in a series of hazardous, maze-like stages built around speed, reaction time, and route finding. Unlike the side-scrolling console games, the arcade version uses an isometric viewpoint and a trackball for movement. Up to three players can play together, controlling Sonic, Mighty, or Ray. The game was notable for its unusual control system and cooperative format, although its limited arcade distribution made it less familiar than the main console entries.
