Players adjust the shot direction, choose the strength of the stroke, and account for rebounds and cue-ball placement. Standard table stages are complemented by trick-shot challenges, which test bank shots and other precise patterns. Successful play increases the score and advances the player through more difficult layouts.

Plan the cue ball's stopping position before taking each shot. A legally pocketed ball is useful only if it also leaves a manageable angle for the next target.

Use cushions deliberately for difficult pockets, and avoid strong shots when a softer stroke can preserve table control. In trick-shot stages, study the rebound path and prioritize the required sequence over raw power.
