How it plays
Players select a fighter and battle through a sequence of one-on-one matches. The objective is to deplete the opponent’s life bar before time expires, using normal attacks, command moves, special techniques, throws, blocking, and Super Arts.
The arcade mode progresses through several opponents before a final boss encounter. A power gauge fills during combat and enables stronger techniques, while each character’s movement, attack range, speed, and special-move properties define a distinct strategy. The game is primarily designed for arcade competition between two players.
Plan your run
Learn the normal attack ranges and recovery times of the chosen fighter before relying on special moves. Safe pokes, anti-air attacks, and blocking are especially important because many characters can convert a single opening into substantial damage.
Manage the power gauge rather than spending it automatically. Save meter for a confirmed Super Art, a defensive escape, or a round-ending combo, and study the opponent’s habits between matches.

SNK vs. Capcom: SVC Chaos is a 2003 arcade fighting game developed and published by SNK Playmore. It brings together fighters from franchises including Street Fighter, The King of Fighters, Fatal Fury, Samurai Shodown, and Metal Slug. Matches use a traditional two-dimensional view, four attack buttons, directional inputs, special moves, and powerful super techniques. The game is built around direct one-on-one competition, with a large crossover roster and several boss encounters. Its fast pace, strict timing, and unusual character matchups gave it a distinct identity among crossover fighters. Reception was mixed: players often praised the roster and aggressive combat, while critics noted balance issues and a less polished presentation than some contemporary fighting games.
