How it plays

How does Sonic Crackers play?

The game uses a side-view perspective. The player guides Sonic and Tails through unfinished platforming areas, collects rings, avoids hazards, and reaches the end of each section.

Sonic and Tails remain linked by an elastic ring. Moving them apart stretches the link, allowing the player to swing or launch one character and interact with the environment in ways not found in the standard Sonic games.

The available prototype material is incomplete, so progression, stage order, scoring, and final objectives are not fully documented.

What is the best way to play Sonic Crackers?

Use the elastic link deliberately rather than treating Sonic and Tails as a normal pair. Stretching the ring can create momentum and help clear gaps, but excessive separation can make movement difficult.

Explore cautiously because the prototype contains unfinished areas and behavior that may not match a final commercial game. Keep track of springs, hazards, and boundaries before committing to a long swing.

Who are the key characters?

1

Sonic the Hedgehog

The primary controllable character, who moves through the prototype while linked to Tails.

2

Miles “Tails” Prower

Sonic’s linked partner. His position and movement are controlled through the prototype’s elastic-ring mechanic.

Before you begin

What should you know before playing?

  1. 1

The ring mechanic is the central feature; practice changing its tension and direction.

  2. 2

Prototype behavior may be incomplete or inconsistent, so not every apparent route is a finished path.
