How it plays

How does Streets of Rage 3 play?

The game uses a side-on perspective across sequential urban and industrial stages. Players move left or right, defeat groups of enemies, collect weapons and items, and reach a boss at the end of most stages.

The main Story Mode supports one or two players and includes branching paths and multiple endings. Characters can walk, jump, attack, use special moves, and perform throws; the life bar, time limit, and special meter shape each encounter. The versus mode provides a separate arena for competitive fights.

Plan your run

What is the best way to play Streets of Rage 3?

Control crowds rather than focusing on one enemy. Keep opponents in front of you, use throws to interrupt groups, and pick up weapons when several enemies approach.

Save the special meter for dangerous formations or bosses, and learn where branching routes begin. Dash attacks and charge attacks are useful for closing distance, but careless use can leave a character exposed.
