How it plays

How does Strider play?

Strider is played from a side-scrolling perspective. The objective is to cross each stage, defeat enemies and bosses, and reach the final confrontation with Grandmaster Meio. Levels move through locations such as cities, mountains, facilities, and orbital environments.

Players run, jump, climb, crouch, and attack with Hiryu’s Cypher sword. Enemies arrive in groups and often require movement as much as direct combat. Progression is stage-based rather than equipment-driven; success comes from learning enemy patterns, platform routes, and boss behavior.

Plan your run

What is the best way to play Strider?

Keep moving instead of trading blows with groups of enemies. Hiryu’s mobility makes it safer to jump over threats or attack while advancing than to remain in one position.

Study each boss before committing to attacks. Use the full width of the arena, avoid predictable projectiles, and strike during recovery animations. In platforming sections, check walls and ceilings for climbable routes before jumping toward distant platforms.
