How it plays
Players select a character and fight through a sequence of one-on-one matches in small, interactive stages. The objective is to deplete the opponent’s life bar before time expires.
Attacks generate gems that can be collected to strengthen special moves. Characters can also use simple normal attacks, throws, guard techniques, and character-specific specials. The arcade progression ends with boss encounters after the regular matches.
Plan your run
Collect gems whenever it is safe, since higher gem levels improve the power of compatible special attacks. Avoid chasing every gem if doing so leaves the character open to a counterattack.
Learn the timing of each character’s guard and special moves, and use the stage objects or dropped items to disrupt opponents. Against bosses, prioritize reliable damage and defense over risky extended combos.

Super Gem Fighter Mini Mix is a 1997 arcade fighting game developed and published by Capcom. It uses a playful super-deformed style while bringing together characters from Street Fighter, Darkstalkers, and Red Earth. Matches focus on compact arenas, quick attacks, collectible gems, and exaggerated special moves rather than strict simulation. The accessible control scheme makes it easy to start, while item use and gem management add tactical choices for experienced players. Its humorous presentation and crossover roster were well received, and the game became known for its energetic animation, comic effects, and lighter alternative to Capcom’s more serious fighting titles.
