How it plays
How does Super Sidekicks play?
Choose a national team and compete through a tournament of football matches. The camera follows play from a mostly behind-the-player perspective, while the screen indicates attacking direction and important scoring situations.
Players move into space, pass, shoot, and challenge opponents. Possession and positioning are more important than complex tactics, and matches are structured for quick arcade play. Winning advances the team through the competition; losing generally ends the run or requires another credit.
Plan your run
What is the best way to play Super Sidekicks?
Use short passes to move the ball toward the attacking half instead of repeatedly attempting long shots. Approach the penalty area before shooting, and watch the goalkeeper's position.
Defensively, stay between the ball carrier and the goal. Challenge only when close enough to avoid opening a clear route forward, then quickly recover your formation after losing possession.
Before you begin
What should you know before playing?
- 1
Build attacks with short passes and avoid giving the ball away in central areas.
- 2
Shoot from closer range when possible; speculative long shots are less dependable.
- 3
Defend the path to goal first, then challenge the ball carrier.
