How it plays

How does Super Street Fighter II: The New Challengers play?

Matches use a side-view perspective and pit two fighters against each other. The objective is to reduce the opponent's vitality before the timer expires, usually by winning two rounds. Players move, jump, block, perform punches and kicks, and execute character-specific special moves.

The single-player arcade route presents a sequence of opponents followed by a fixed endgame challenge. Two-player competitive matches are available, and the four newcomers—Cammy, Fei Long, T. Hawk, and Dee Jay—join the returning World Warriors. Super Combo meters and character-specific techniques add tactical options as matches progress.

Plan your run

What is the best way to play Super Street Fighter II: The New Challengers?

Learn one reliable normal attack, one anti-air response, and one special move before attempting advanced combos. Blocking low attacks and recognizing jump-ins are more important than attacking constantly.

Use the timer and spacing deliberately. Keep opponents at the range where your character's strongest normals connect, punish missed special moves, and save Super Combos for confirmed openings rather than throwing them out randomly.
