The balanced leader of the Turtles, using a pair of swords and adaptable attacks.
How it plays
Matches take place in side-view arenas with two fighters competing for the best of several rounds. The objective is to deplete the opponent’s life bar before the timer expires, using normal attacks, jumps, special moves, and defensive movement.
The main progression is tournament-based: the player selects a fighter and advances through successive opponents. Versus play supports direct matches between two players, while single-player play focuses on defeating the computer-controlled roster. Each character has different reach, speed, strengths, and special techniques.
Plan your run
Learn the range and recovery time of the chosen fighter’s basic attacks before relying on special moves. Keep enough distance to punish missed attacks, then use jumps and short movement changes to avoid predictable retaliation.
In tournament play, preserve health whenever possible because later matches become less forgiving. Against large fighters, attack after their slower moves finish rather than trading hits. In versus matches, vary approach timing and avoid repeating the same jump-in or special move.

Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles: Tournament Fighters is a 1993 one-on-one fighting game developed and published by Konami for the Sega Genesis. It adapts the comic and cartoon-inspired Turtles universe into a competitive tournament format rather than a scrolling beat ’em up. Players choose a Turtle or another fighter, learn distinct attacks, and battle through a succession of matches. The Genesis version has its own roster, stages, balance, and presentation instead of being a direct conversion of the Nintendo versions. Reception was mixed but generally appreciated its colorful characters, accessible controls, and recognizable Turtles setting.
