How it plays

How does Terminator 2: Judgment Day play?

The game uses a side-scrolling perspective. The player advances through stages inspired by events from the film, dealing with armed human enemies, machines, hazards, and environmental obstacles while trying to reach each stage’s objective.

Movement, jumping, shooting, and weapon management form the core play. Progression is stage-based, with survival and careful positioning often more important than speed. The Genesis release does not provide a broad character-customization system or an extensive set of alternate modes.

Plan your run

What is the best way to play Terminator 2: Judgment Day?

Conserve health and ammunition instead of rushing into every encounter. Advance carefully, use the edges of platforms to control enemy spacing, and learn the timing of hazards before committing to a jump.

When a stage repeats a difficult sequence, treat the first attempt as reconnaissance. Memorizing enemy positions and safe routes is more reliable than trying to overpower every threat.
