How it plays
Players move through horizontally scrolling stages while switching between the front and rear planes to avoid attacks, reach platforms, and find alternate routes. Enemies are defeated with punches, jumps, and temporary weapons collected during a stage.
The campaign is divided into themed worlds with boss encounters. Players choose Roddy or Cathy, clear each area, gather useful items, and continue through increasingly difficult enemy formations. Cooperative play allows two players to fight through the stages together.
Plan your run
Use the two movement planes defensively rather than staying in one lane. Shift to the rear or foreground to avoid attacks, approach enemies from safer angles, and use elevated platforms to control groups.
Save powerful weapons for dense enemy formations and bosses. In two-player games, avoid occupying the same lane unnecessarily so both players can attack without blocking each other.

Top Hunter: Roddy & Cathy is a 1994 arcade action game developed and published by SNK. It combines side-scrolling beat 'em up combat with platforming and a distinctive two-plane movement system. Players guide bounty hunters Roddy or Cathy through colorful worlds, fighting robots, monsters, and other enemies while collecting weapons and treasure. The game supports solo and cooperative two-player play. Its bright presentation, responsive controls, and unusual foreground-and-background paths earned it a positive reputation among Neo Geo arcade titles, although its difficulty and relatively short campaign can make repeated play demanding.
