How it plays
Matches take place in two-dimensional arenas from a side-on perspective. The objective is to defeat the opponent before the timer expires, usually by depleting their life bar in a best-of-three-round contest.
Players move, jump, crouch, block, throw, and use six attack buttons divided into punches and kicks. Special and super moves are performed with joystick motions and button presses. The single-player route progresses through opponents toward a final boss, while versus play supports direct matches between players.
Plan your run
Learn the normal attacks and special-move ranges of one character before trying to master the entire roster. Use the six attack strengths to control distance: lighter attacks are generally faster, while heavier attacks cause more damage and pushback.
Block patiently, punish missed attacks, and watch the opponent's meter before committing to a jump-in. Each fighter has different air options and mobility, so practice anti-air attacks and corner escapes in repeated matches.

Save super meter for a confirmed hit or a defensive reversal when the opportunity is clear.
Vampire Hunter: Darkstalkers' Revenge is a 1995 arcade 2D fighting game developed and published by Capcom. It expands the supernatural roster and fast, character-driven combat established by the original Darkstalkers. Players choose a monster, vampire, or human hunter and battle through a sequence of one-on-one matches using normal attacks, special moves, and unique character abilities. The game is known for its fluid animation, expressive gothic presentation, aggressive pace, and distinctive cast. Its refinements made it a respected arcade sequel, although it remained less widely known than Capcom's Street Fighter series. The arcade version later became the basis for several home conversions and rereleases.
