How it plays

How does Vampire Hunter 2: Darkstalkers' Revenge play?

Matches are viewed from a side-on 2D perspective. The objective is to deplete the opponent's life gauge before the timer expires, usually over a best-of-three-round contest.

Players move, jump, crouch, block, throw, and use six attack buttons divided into punches and kicks. Each character has normal attacks, command moves, special moves, and powerful EX Specials that consume stored power.

The arcade mode progresses through rival battles and a final encounter. Players can build a special meter during combat, manage recovery opportunities, and exploit each fighter's unique movement and attack properties.

Plan your run

What is the best way to play Vampire Hunter 2: Darkstalkers' Revenge?

Learn the normal attack ranges and approach tools for the chosen fighter before relying on special moves. Darkstalkers rewards movement, air attacks, and rapid pressure more than passive blocking.

Watch the opponent's recovery and meter. Punish missed attacks with a fast normal or command attack, and save EX Specials for reliable confirms or defensive momentum.

Against unfamiliar characters, avoid jumping repeatedly and identify their strongest anti-air option. Practice one safe blockstring, one throw setup, and one meter-spending combo.
