How it plays
World Heroes 2 is a side-view, one-on-one fighting game. A match is won by reducing the opponent's health before the timer expires; most bouts use multiple rounds. The single-player game follows a fixed sequence of opponents and ends with a boss battle, while versus play lets two players fight directly.
Players move, jump, crouch, block, attack, throw, and use character-specific special moves. The four attack buttons represent different punch and kick strengths. Fighters have distinct speed, reach, special techniques, and Super Moves, so progression depends on learning matchups, spacing, defensive timing, and reliable attack patterns.
Plan your run
Learn the range and recovery of each attack before relying on special moves. Short, safe attacks are useful for controlling space, while throws punish opponents who block too often.
Watch the timer and health bars closely. Blocking, crouching, and moving away from predictable attacks are safer than trading hits, especially against the later opponents and Dio. In versus play, practice one reliable combo and one dependable anti-air response for your chosen fighter.

World Heroes 2 is a 1993 arcade fighting game developed by ADK and published by SNK. It is the second main entry in the World Heroes series, presenting exaggerated versions of historical figures and fictional fighters in one-on-one combat. Players select a warrior, defeat opponents through a tournament-style route, and face increasingly demanding battles before the final encounter. The game supports standard competitive matches as well as a single-player tournament. Its roster, colorful character designs, and unusual historical inspirations give it a distinctive identity, while the controls and structure follow the conventions of early-1990s arcade fighters. Contemporary and later reception has generally regarded it as a solid sequel that expands the original with more fighters and refinement, though it remains less influential than SNK's flagship fighting franchises.
