How it plays
Matches use a side-view arena and two-character teams. One fighter is active at a time, while the partner can be called in or tagged to continue pressure and recover health. The objective is to defeat both members of the opposing team before the timer expires.
Each character has light, medium, and heavy punches and kicks, special moves, throws, air attacks, and Hyper Combos. Arcade progression consists of a series of team battles followed by boss encounters, with difficulty and opponent composition determined by the arcade machine settings.
Plan your run
Build teams with complementary strengths. A projectile-focused character can control distance while a rushdown partner exploits openings created by that zoning pressure. Tagging also lets an injured fighter recover life in reserve.
Learn each character’s launcher, air combo route, and safest special moves. Save Hyper Combos for confirmed hits or for extending a tag-team sequence, and watch the opponent’s partner gauge before committing to a long attack string.

X-Men vs. Street Fighter is a 1996 arcade fighting game developed and published by Capcom. It brings Marvel’s X-Men into a crossover battle with fighters from Street Fighter, using a fast two-on-two format rather than the one-on-one structure of earlier Capcom fighters. Players select a team, switch between partners, and combine normal attacks, special moves, and powerful Hyper Combos. The game was well received for its energetic pace, distinctive roster, and tag mechanics, and it became an important foundation for Capcom’s later Marvel crossover fighting games.
