How it plays
The game is viewed from the side and is organized into linear platforming stages. Aladdin must reach the end of each level, collect items, defeat or avoid enemies, and survive environmental hazards.
Players can jump between platforms, climb ropes and ledges, use the sword at close range, and throw a limited supply of apples. Stages include Agrabah streets, rooftops, caves, the Sultan's palace, and other film-inspired locations. Checkpoints, bonus opportunities, and boss encounters provide progression through the adventure.
Plan your run
Learn enemy patterns before committing to attacks, especially when several guards share a narrow platform. Save apples for flying enemies or situations where a close-range sword attack is unsafe.
Search platforms and side paths for collectibles and bonus opportunities, but do not rush into hazards. On difficult sections, prioritize safe jumps and checkpoint progress over collecting every item.

Disney's Aladdin is a side-scrolling action-platformer developed by Virgin Games for the Sega Genesis in 1993. It adapts Disney's animated film by placing Aladdin in a series of dangerous locations across Agrabah and beyond. Players run, jump, climb, swing a sword, and throw apples while avoiding guards, animals, traps, and other hazards. The game follows the film's broad story but uses original level layouts and substantial platforming challenges. Its detailed animation, colorful presentation, and fluid character movement were widely praised, while some reviewers considered its difficulty demanding. It is distinct from the separate Super Nintendo Aladdin, which was developed by Capcom and uses a different design.
