A street fighter and one of the series' central protagonists.
How it plays
Matches use a side-view perspective with two horizontal fighting planes. Players reduce an opponent's life bar through normal attacks, special moves, throws, and plane attacks, while changing lanes can evade some attacks or create new openings.
The main single-player path is a sequence of tournament bouts ending with boss encounters. Versus play supports matches against another player. Fighters gain access to distinct command moves and special attacks, and careful spacing, blocking, jumping, and timing are more important than simply repeating attacks.
Plan your run
Learn the range and recovery of each fighter's normal attacks before relying on special moves. Use the two planes deliberately: switching lanes can avoid a linear attack, but an unsafe plane shift can also leave you open.
Against bosses, block patiently and punish missed attacks rather than attacking continuously. Preserve your life by avoiding unnecessary jumps, and practice command inputs in Versus mode if the game offers the opportunity.

Fatal Fury 2 is a one-on-one fighting game developed by SNK and adapted for the Sega Genesis by Takara. It follows the renewed King of Fighters tournament, where fighters battle through a succession of matches before confronting the tournament's powerful organizers and final challenger. The game is built around traditional punches, kicks, special moves, throws, and a two-plane fighting system that lets combatants move between the foreground and background. The Genesis version retains the series' recognizable cast and competitive focus while adjusting presentation and controls for home hardware. Its expanded roster, lane movement, and stronger emphasis on special-move timing made it a notable early-1990s console fighting game. Reception generally praised its depth and character variety, although the home conversion has less audiovisual power than the Neo Geo original.
