How it plays

How does Frogger play?

The screen presents a fixed, top-down crossing divided into a road and a river. The frog moves one grid step at a time, and the objective is to fill the available home positions before losing all lives.

Cars and trucks must be avoided on the road. In the river section, the frog must ride logs, turtles, or other floating objects while avoiding water. Players can choose among available game variations, which alter difficulty and hazards. Successful crossings award points and allow progression to another attempt at a higher challenge.

Plan your run

What is the best way to play Frogger?

Use small, deliberate movements rather than holding a direction continuously. Watch traffic patterns before entering a lane, and use floating objects as stepping stones across the river.

Prioritize reaching an open home position safely. Avoid jumping into a narrow gap unless the next landing space is clearly available, and remember that the screen's time limit makes indecision dangerous.
