How it plays

How does Garou: Mark of the Wolves play?

Matches use one-on-one rounds on a 2D plane. The objective is to reduce the opponent's life bar before time expires, using normal attacks, command moves, special moves, and super techniques.

Players select a fighter and choose a T.O.P. position before the match. The T.O.P. zone grants a temporary power boost, gradual recovery, and access to a character's T.O.P. attack when the life bar reaches that section. Just Defend rewards precise blocking, and the arcade route ends with boss battles against Grant and Kain.

Plan your run

What is the best way to play Garou: Mark of the Wolves?

Learn the spacing and preferred range of the selected fighter before relying on special moves. Normal attacks, command grabs, anti-air attacks, and safe pressure are more dependable than repeatedly attempting supers.

Choose the T.O.P. position to match your plan. A late position can provide comeback power, while an early position offers benefits before the fighter is badly damaged. Practice Just Defend timing, then punish the opponent's recovery with a fast normal or special move.

Watch the opponent's meter and T.O.P. state. Save resources for a confirmed super, and avoid unsafe reversals unless the situation clearly demands one.
