How it plays

How does X-Men: Children of the Atom play?

Matches are played from a side-on perspective in rounds. The objective is to deplete the opponent's life bar before time expires, using normal attacks, throws, special moves, and character-specific super moves.

The arcade mode uses a fixed ladder of battles and ends with a confrontation against Magneto. Characters can jump high, attack in the air, chain attacks into combos, and use a super meter to perform powerful techniques. Versus play supports direct battles between two players.

Plan your run

What is the best way to play X-Men: Children of the Atom?

Learn the normal attack chains for one character before relying on special moves. Use jumps and air attacks carefully, since aerial combat and anti-air timing are central to the game.

Save the super meter for confirmed hits or defensive reversals. Against large characters, punish recovery animations rather than trading attacks, and keep pressure on Magneto without allowing him to control the screen with projectiles.
