How it plays
The game is a side-scrolling platformer played from a two-dimensional perspective. Each numbered adventure begins with a selection of Robot Master stages, which can usually be attempted in any order.
Mega Man runs, jumps, climbs ladders, fires his arm cannon, and uses acquired special weapons. Defeated bosses grant weapons with different strengths and weaknesses, making stage order part of the progression. Completing the three remakes opens Wily Tower, an additional sequence with selectable weapons and new boss encounters.
Plan your run
Learn each boss's movement pattern before spending special-weapon ammunition. Weaknesses are important, but the Mega Buster remains dependable when a weapon is ineffective or ammunition is scarce.
Explore stages for energy tanks and other supplies, then choose a route that gives useful weapons early. In Wily Tower, plan the available weapon loadout before entering a stage because its encounters are designed around deliberate weapon selection.
Meet the cast

Documented inputs
Documented unlockComplete Mega Man, Mega Man 2, and Mega Man 3 to unlock Wily Tower, the additional Genesis-exclusive scenario.
Before you begin
Use boss weaknesses to shorten difficult fights, but conserve limited ammunition for later rooms.
Practice ladder timing and disappearing-block sections rather than rushing them.
The three remakes share the same broad structure as the originals, but their Genesis presentation and some balance details differ.
Mega Man: The Wily Wars is a 1994 Sega Genesis action-platformer developed and published by Capcom. It reworks the original Mega Man, Mega Man 2, and Mega Man 3 with updated graphics, music, and presentation built for the Genesis. Players control Mega Man as he battles Dr. Wily's robot forces, defeats Robot Masters, and copies their weapons. The game follows the series' stage-based run-and-gun style, mixing precise jumping with pattern-based boss fights and weapon selection. Its reception has generally been positive for the ambitious remakes and extra content, although some players find the Genesis-exclusive presentation uneven and the original release difficult to obtain. Completing the three remade games unlocks the separate Wily Tower challenge.
