How it plays
The game uses a side-view arena perspective. A player selects Rockman, Blues, Forte, or Duo, chooses a route, and fights a sequence of Robot Masters before confronting Dr. Wily's forces. Battles are organized as compact boss arenas rather than scrolling platform stages.
Players run, jump, fire, and use acquired special weapons. Defeated bosses provide weapons that can exploit later weaknesses, while energy and score management support continued arcade play. One- or two-player modes are available, with cooperative combat in two-player games.
Plan your run
Learn each Robot Master's attack rhythm before committing to close range. Jump over predictable projectiles, keep moving, and punish recovery animations rather than trading hits.
Use newly acquired weapons on bosses with matching weaknesses when possible. In two-player mode, separate targets and revive pressure by alternating attacks instead of standing in the same space.

Rockman 2: The Power Fighters is a 1996 Capcom arcade action fighting game and the sequel to The Power Battle. Players choose one of four heroes and battle through successive Robot Master encounters while collecting weapons from defeated opponents. Its side-view format, short stages, and two-player support make it an arcade-focused reinterpretation of Mega Man rather than a conventional platform game. The title was well received for its colorful presentation, responsive controls, cooperative play, and large roster of familiar bosses, although its limited release outside arcades kept it less widely known than the mainline games.
